Trade associations

We have a proven record of presenting the concerns of trade associations and their members to Ministers, Shadow Ministers, Select Committees, MPs, Peers and civil servants.

Trade associations have a dual role, with a duty to the public as well as their members. In some cases the rogue operator can be a significant threat to an industry’s reputation. For others, high insurance premiums and unwarranted ‘red tape’ force their members into liquidation.

Building parliamentary and political support for such organisations can be complex and demanding. It requires an appreciation of the needs of an often wide-ranging membership in conjunction with the over-arching goals of that industry’s representative body.

Federation of Racecourse Bookmakers:

“The racecourse bookmaking industry is facing profound changes, driven by both legislative and market developments. Ranelagh International consistently manages to balance a passionate belief in our cause with carefully considered, unemotional advice.

Their expert guidance in developing our political and negotiating strategy, with all its subtleties and complexities, has been vital to the Federation of Racecourse Bookmakers and those it represents, and to the viability of our industry.”

National Association of Funeral Directors:

“Our work requires a great deal of emotional fluency and sensitivity, but like every other business, funeral directors can also be detrimentally affected by changes to legislation and by the actions and attitude of people in Parliament.

The consultancy team at Ranelagh International made a real and lasting difference to our lobbying successes in Westminster and Whitehall on a number of fronts. Their counsel and support was invaluable in building upon, and maintaining, strong relationships with Parliamentarians of all backgrounds.

Ranelagh gave us advance warning of problems on the horizon, worked with us to establish ambitious strategies, and then steered us through the maze of Parliamentary and Whitehall procedures to secure the desired result.

The National Association of Funeral Directors owes a deep debt of gratitude to the consultants of Ranelagh International.”

British Entertainment Industry Radio Group:

“The British Entertainment Industry Radio Group is delighted to have Ranelagh’s support and guidance in helping to secure a more positive future for the Programme Making and Special Events industry. Ranelagh’s work has seen the PMSE industry accepted as an exceptional industry in its use of radio spectrum, and the industry has been afforded concessions from Government as a result.

Their team has an in-depth understanding of our members’ concerns, and has been extremely professional in delivery our targeted public affairs programme. Ranelagh has successfully liaised with Government, Parliamentarians, NDPBs and the media to secure tangible results for our industry.”
