Consultation responses
Consultation responses are a primary way of engaging in legislative developments. They can also be the cornerstone of a public affairs campaign as a whole, used to develop political relationships and understanding.
Responses need to be written with a range of audiences in mind, from parliamentarians to Ministers and civil servants, from expert policy makers to a lay audience. What’s more, anyone reading a response – or a briefing paper drawn from it – will have many competing demands on their time and interest.
Clarity is paramount. Consultation responses need to be concise, accurate and jargon-free.
